GLOBAL EMERGENCY MEDICINE – EXPERIENCES AND OPPORTUNITIES

An expert panel from all over the globe will join us for this EM-Monthly edition.

Giles Cattermole gathered experience in Hong Kong, several countries in Africa and the UK. He will give an introduction to the topic: What is Global EM and why should we bother?

Shweta Gidwani, consultant from the UK, was involved in the development of emergency care service delivery and training programs in India for several years. She will update us about Innovations in training in India.

Liz Joekes and Eszter Momade will inform us on POCUS in Ghana. Dr Joekes has championed the potential of point of care ultrasound in low resource settings and she has been working on POCUS training and research for the last 15 years in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr Momade is an EM trainer on the Worldwide Radiology’s POCUS course in Ghana.

We stay on the African continent with Gabin Mbanjumucyo, who will tell us about the status of EM in Rwanda – introduction, impact and next steps.

The webinar will be moderated by EUSEM past president Abdelouahab Bellou, who has been a leader in the development of international Emergency Medicine.

The best teachings are not from theory books but from each others practical experience. Let’s exchange knowledge and perspectives and talk about the opportunitites to work on together for the benefit of global EM.
