Resuscitation 2016 in Reykjavik, Iceland

Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2016.

The ERC Congress on Education.

Resuscitation 2016 is being held one year after publication of the 2015 Guidelines. How should these new guidelines best be implemented?

How can we teach Europe?

Scientific knowledge serves no purpose if education fails. Whilst the 2015 Congress in Prague focused on the science of resuscitation, this congress will deal with the educational aspects.

This will be an ideal opportunity for delegates to interact with an international faculty of experts, and contribute towards developing new educational approaches to resuscitation training.

Practical skills will be combined with scientific theory.

The programme will focus on education, but there will also be hands-on sessions, a CPR competition, updates on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE),...

Kids save lives

Training school children in cardiopulmonary resuscitation worldwide is now endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

In a few countries, educating school children in CPR is already mandatory, and in many countries, local, regional and national initiatives have been started. The European Resuscitation Council (ERC), the American Heart Association (AHA) and other resuscitation organisations have invested considerable effort and initiative into this approach. In 2013, 400 Members of the European Parliament supported an initiative leading to the ERC “European Restart-a-Heart Day”.

The Restart-a-heart day for 2016 will be 16 October so mark the date. Two days later, we will try to set an official world record that day.

More information to follow.
