SPECIAL PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP :
Post Arrest Therapeutic Hyothermia - A "How-to" Course

Thursday 24 October (the day before the Symposium)
14:00 - 20:00
Radisson Blu, Krakow, Poland

Led by a highly-experienced physician and nurse team at the University of Pennsylvania, this one-day workshop will update the participants with practical information about the implementation of post-arrest cooling therapy to improve outcomes.

What side effects should one look for? How should side effects be managed? How can the brain be monitored during cooling therapy?

This workshop is ideal for physicians or nurses who are actively involved in the clinical care of patients following cardiac arrest.

Space is limited to 30 registrants
Please contact congress@erc.edu for further information.
Registration fee is 50 euro.

Representatives of the Associate Gold Members

The membership of the ERC General Assembly includes four representatives of the Associate Gold Members: the Associate Representatives. Their task is primarily to represent the interests of all Associate Gold Members, thereby increasing the input of this group of members within the General Assembly.

The Associate Representatives were elected for the first time in June 2011, for a (renewable) term of 2 years. Earlier this year a call for candidatures for the next term was launched. Over the summer a voting was organized and the Gold Members elected their Associate Representatives for the next 2 years:

1. Eleni BASSIAKOU (Greece)
2. Uwe KREIMEIER (Germany)
3. Freddy LIPPERT (Denmark)
4. Peter PAAL (Austria)

Congratulations to all!

Peter Baskett Bursary - Resuscitation 2014, Bilbao

The ERC, together with the Laerdal Foundation, have established a bursary in order to make it possible for ERC instructors from countries with a lower Gross National Income or those not being able financially, to participate in ERC conferences.

The Bursary will also apply for the ERC Congress in Bilbao (15-17 May 2014). More information regarding the Peter Baskett Bursary applications for Resuscitation 2014 will soon be available!
